 Delivering 21 st Century tools, learning and skills

Delivering 21st Century tools, learning and skills was the first of the seminars scheduled for 2006. The seminar was held on 3 March in Adelaide. 

Keynote speaker

Marc Prensky, the founder of Games2train, designer and builder of over 50 software games, and author of the critically acclaimed Digital Game-Based Learning and Don't Bother Me, Mom - I'm Learning!

Marc's professional focus has been on reinventing the learning process, combining the motivation of video games and other highly engaging activities with the content of education and business. He is considered one of the world's leading experts on the connection between games and learning.

The seminar was presented in collaboration with the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA), LearnScope SA, TAFE SA, the  Australian Flexible Learning Framework SA Framework Unit, the SA Department of Education and Children's Services (DECS) and the Computers in Education Group SA (CEGSA).

What the seminar offered

  • contemporary thinking around digital game based learning, digital natives and trends in elearning

  • an understanding of using games in education and training

  • an opportunity to network with peers and practitioners from around Australia.
